Abraham and Isaac
Joseph
any of the parables of Jesus
The kingdom of God scriptures
Noah sounds good (as suggested by Mark Albert)
it would be good if the drawings could be a bit more contempory

Comment by Julie Stares | June 1, 2008 |
i think the 10 commandments is really great to convict people of sin and the need for repentance.
Comment by jennifer | June 1, 2008 |
i think the story of the birth of Jesus would be good. it would teach children and parents alike about the true meaning of christmas.
Comment by anne | June 1, 2008 |
1. The story of Pentecost would be great.
2. The Conversion of St Paul – he’s such an important figure in the early church.
Comment by Audrey Boucher | June 1, 2008 |

Comment by kristin | June 1, 2008 |
The 23rd Psalm
Moses’ life in 3 parts: birth & childhood; Journey through the desert; the 10 Commandments.
The 4 Gospels (main theme of each).
Mary & Elizabeth having children almost at the same time & being cousins. Queen Esther & Purim.
The 10 Plagues of Egypt, it might be connected to Moses’ life also making it a 4 parter.
Passover for the Jews.
Joshua and the walls of Jericho.
Sermon on the Mount.
There’s tons of stories to do.
Comment by Alice Gess | June 1, 2008 |
I think all of these suggestions are great. I think bible stories listed are needed. I would just suggest if you do quote scripture maybe make one that is KJV version.
Comment by kristie jones | June 1, 2008 |
I believe a good one to use is the story of Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. See Daniel 3:17-18.
Comment by R. William Henderson | June 1, 2008 |
I’d like to see some of the stories that are hard to find things for, such as the Beatitudes, Jesus praying in the Garden, the Disciples, Christ’s birth from the Wisemen’s perspective, Mary & Martha, Abraham and Sarah, Doubting Thomas… (These are the few of the stories on my scope and sequence for the next couple years…) Thanks for asking!
Comment by Jody | June 1, 2008 |
i like stories that god loves us no matter what and to love and to forgive each other
Comment by Pamela K Thompson | June 1, 2008 |
Zacchaeus
The Beatitudes
Comment by Linda Turner | June 1, 2008 |
I would like to see the “Fruits of the Spirit” on a memory cross! And of course, Noah, Joseph, David and Goliath, The creation story? These cards are wonderful and the kids in our Children’s Church LOVE THEM! One even said he was going to take one to school with him so he could tell a boy who doesn’t believe in Jesus, all about Jesus! Thank you!
Comment by Carol Mack | June 1, 2008 |
The ten commandments would be ideal. Also something on the fruit of the spirit, Pentecost, What would Jesus do???, if possible something on grace vs. law –
Comment by Deb | June 1, 2008 |
I’d love to see one that illustrates the Lords prayer, and adds tips for the kids on how to pray this model but using their own words.
Comment by natalie | June 1, 2008 |
Any of the stories would make a great memory cross card, bit I especially like the story of Noah.
Comment by Peg | June 1, 2008 |
I too would like to see a card on Penticost. I feel led of the Lord to
teach this to our children and young people in the fall. It would be great to have something for them to take home afterwards.
Comment by Shirley | June 1, 2008 |
I suggest the story of Ruth and how she stuck with her mother-in-law even after her husband died, and God blessed her for doing so. Also, the story of Esther and how she stood up for her people going before the king without permission which could have meant her life, but didn’t.
Comment by Carol Barth | June 1, 2008 |
The story of the 10 lepers would make a great memory cross. Pentecost would be another one. The children always stay through the entire worship service on Pentecost and it would be a wonderful, quiet activity for them in worship. Moses, Abraham and other old testament stories. The children aren’t as familiar with these stories as they are the ‘Jesus stories.’
Comment by Christine | June 1, 2008 |
I would like to see common Bible stories from the OT, and maybe some of the parables from the NT. I would also like to see a John 3:16 in KJV.
Comment by Laura Goodman | June 1, 2008 |
I would like to see something for 12 to 15 years old on the memory crosses
Comment by connie byrd | June 1, 2008 |
These are some favorites:
*The beloved friendship of David and Johnathan.
*Jesus calms the storm.
*Jeremiah 29:11-13, God has a plan for everyone.
*Saul becomes Paul.
*The return of Christ-no one knows when, return in clouds
*John the Baptist
*The little children come to Christ
So many favorites, so little time-I could go on and on.
Thanks for letting us have input.
Comment by Joyce Grimes | June 1, 2008 |
1. More VBS “theme” cards!
2. You should do an “old testament” series. they could have the same format or style, but be on the classics. You could market them to churches/classes as packs of the same story, or you could market them to families as a ‘series pack’ with one of each story in the pack. In fact, each story could focus on a specific character trait (David/Goliath: Trust God, Joshua/Jericho: Obey God, etc)
3. Another thought is to do some as a ‘treasure hunt’ with verses on different pages, or perhaps just some questions on a page with answers on the back. think of it as a “puzzle page” or activity Cross.
4. LORD’S SUPPER. This is a much needed Cross. Most material on explaining the Lord’s Supper is somewhat boring and not suitable for children, who need to know. Especially young children who have a firm faith and understanding of salvation, but who don’t really understand what taking the Lord’s Supper is all about. This would be very popular with Southern Baptist churches, like mine.
Thanks for the great products and costumer service!
Comment by Niki | June 1, 2008 |
I think these would be great on a memory cross:
1. The days of creation
2. The beatitudes – Sermon on the Mount
3. The ten commandments
4. The birth of Jesus
5. Important women of the Bible
6. Divisions of the Bible (old/new test.; history, poetry, prophecy, Paul’s letters, etc.
7. metamorphosis of caterpillar to butterfly: In Christ we are a new creation…the old is gone the new has come. He makes all things beautiful in HIS time.
8. (for children) understanding Baptism
9. (for children’s choirs) what is praise and worship…
praising with my heart, soul, strength; in my thoughts, actions, words of my mouth, with my life; I can
worship by playing instruments skillfully to the Lord, etc.
10. highlight some of the miracles of Jesus
11. the plagues upon Egypt (God/Moses/Pharoah)
12. story of the Battle of Jericho
13. The Lord’s prayer
14. The Great Commission
Comment by D.K. | June 2, 2008 |
The story of Pentecost would be great. The Beatitudes,Also something on the fruit of the spirit. All the above are great would help a lot in in teaching.
Comment by nancy | June 2, 2008 |
Forgiveness of sins and how Christ died for all sins, we just need to ask for forgiveness. Explain how confession helps with this.
Another good one could ne concerning the Rosary
Comment by Jim Bougie | June 2, 2008 |
I believe Esther would make an excellent memeory cross…how she dared confront the king as well as almost would give up her life for her Jewish people. It was all
God’s planning…Haman’s plan actually backfired!
Comment by Debbie | June 2, 2008 |
All of the suggestions above are very good. But my group are not motivated to color that much. I would like to see the cards offered in color.
Comment by Teresa | June 2, 2008 |
I would love to have ONE coloring card that has a ‘page’ representing this year’s Vacation Bible School stories that I could hand out to the kids as a momento.
The Call of Gideon: Judges 6:14-15; 6:36-7:21
David’s Kindness to Mephibosheth: 2 Samuel 9:1-11
The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant: Matthew 18:21-33
A Woman Healed: Luke 8:40-48
Jesus and Thomas: John 20:24-29
Comment by Connie | June 2, 2008 |
I believe you should put more detail bible stories like Job for the types of pain and obeiences.
Comment by fran | June 2, 2008 |
Please put more stories like Job
Comment by fran | June 2, 2008 |
I would like to see coloring cards on the following: Esther; Ruth and Naomi; Joseph’s Life; David’s Life including David’s kindness to Mephibosheth (we don’t see much on this person in David’s life); Parables of Jesus, Raising of Jairus’ daughter and other miracles of Jesus; Divisions of the Bible; the Lord’s Supper and Baptism for children; Mary and Martha; the Lord’s Prayer; the Beatitudes; Joshua and the Battle of Jericho; David and Goliath; Creation; Noah; Jonah; more Bible verses, and etc., etc., and etc. Thanks for a wonderful product and fast service.
Comment by Sandi Malone | June 2, 2008 |
I could not use the link, so I am replying this way. I believe the following lessons would be good in memory cards. Noah, Jericho, Zacchaeus, The ten lepers healed, Jesus calming the storm. I’m sure there are more.
Thank you,
Deborah Sabatino

Parables of Jesus
Gideon
Esther
Pentecost
Comment by Charlotte Straight | June 2, 2008 |
I would think that the memory crosses should be done in accordance to the childs age. Younger ones might not totaly understand something for an older child. But really like the subtitles posted. Thanks
Comment by Mary | June 2, 2008 |
These are all great ideas I am most interested in the OT stories : Creation / Ten Commandments /King David / Ruth.
Thanks for asking our input …
Comment by Cindy Osterling | June 2, 2008 |
All the parables of Jesus would be great!
Comment by Duana | June 3, 2008 |
All of the stories mentioned before would be good to have. How about some of the angels, archangels, throne in heaven, beasts and other interesting things described in Revelation? I would also like to see the drawings be more contemporary. If they are for coloring, less detailed drawings would make them easier to color for younger children.
Comment by Marlene | June 3, 2008 |
Adam and Eve.
Comment by Jude | June 3, 2008 |
We’ve used these memory challenge items with our Kids Ahoy program:
-John Wesley’s Quote: “Do all the good…
-The 10 Commandments
-The Beatitudes
-The Names of the Disciples
-Names of God
Comment by Fred | June 4, 2008 |
I really like the suggestion of John Wesley’s “do all the good that you can, etc.”
I also love Paul’s advice in 2 Tim 2:21-25
21 … ready for every good work.
22 …pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace … be kindly to everyone, an apt teacher, patient,
25…correcting opponents with gentleness…

I honestly would like to see a card on “Reading God’s Word” and even “The Importance of Fasting”. What victory the children would have if they knew how to begin to apply these to things in their Christian walk.
Comment by Cind - Ohio | June 9, 2008 |
I’d like a memory cross on Jesus concerning money.
Comment by Anonymous | June 9, 2008 |
Matthew 19:14, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
Comment by Mark Myers | June 9, 2008 |

1.Someone else mentioned more VBS cards – when they roll out 2009 VBS Themes & Ideas begin working on a card to go with each one. The coloring ones would be great for teacher to add to their classroom activities.
2. Love one another as yourself – the greatest commandment
3.The Golden Rule
4. Creation story
5. Noah Ark
Comment by Piper Stephens | June 9, 2008 |
If they could be made to correspond with a particular series, it would be nice. LIKE: the series that Child Evangelism uses in their 5 day clubs and in their good news club….or to go along with some other company’s lessons plans…..otherwise I just vote for more SALVATION – with and without words. Some geared forchildren, some geared for adults – that can be used internationally and with deaf, etc. Sorry, just do not have the time to just sit and brainstorm this. This company has a lot of potential and I am glad you are reaching out for ideas to expand and improve it.

23rd Psalm
Seed falling amongst thorns, on the rocks, etc.
My favorite verse: Philippians 4:8. Perhaps in NKJV. It does vary a lot by Bible version. It has great application every day of your life.
Jesus saying “follow me.”
Miriam singing praises in Ex. 15:21
And Miriam answered them, Sing you to the LORD, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider has he thrown into the sea.
The 3 Hebrew children standing their ground re their food and not bowing down.
The good samaritan–loving your neighbor
Fruit of the spirit
Mary and Martha
Jesus healing the woman who touched his garment because her faith was so great.
Joseph giving God the credit while he helped others
Psalm 8, the whole thing, in KJV. How powerful!
1 O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth! who hast set thy glory above the heavens.
2 Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.
3 When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5 For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
7 All sheep and oxen, yea, and the beasts of the field;
8 The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!

Jonah and the whale
Samson and Delilah
The three temptations of Christ
I love your work. Keep it coming!!!
Comment by Tammy | June 9, 2008 |
I think a great one would be the Alabaster jar story… That way we can teach on true worship!
Comment by Liz Perez | June 9, 2008 |
How about SONGS! Like, maybe, Jesus Loves Me?
Comment by Carol Mack | June 9, 2008 |
I agree the caterpillar into the butterfly would be a great lesson for my preschoolers when we cover the butterfly section. Also I was disappointed you didnt use the VBS verses to go with Concordia Publishing House’s VBS this year. I would have liked to have used those.
Comment by kristin | June 9, 2008 |
The coloring cards are fun, but most of my kids get frustrated when the background of the pages don’t match up well. obviously it is tricky to make all 4 pages match, but some are better than others. having a green mountain turn up behind one cross, while the other 2 crosses sky in the background, for example. what may line up perfectly in black/white doesn’t always work when colored! 🙂
More full color memory crosses! my kids like those better. some aren’t happy with their coloring and then don’t use it anymore.
a set of 5 smaller, full color crosses that go with the same lesson? a ‘mini’ set? Christmas works for that idea. one taught each week or all in one.
Comment by Niki, again | June 9, 2008 |
COORDINATE WITH CHILDREN’S MUSICALS & VBS. When the newest children’s choir musicals are released, follow the main Bible story in those. as soon as we start a new show or vbs, i search your site for lessons that match up. this would be a big hit!
Comment by Niki, again | June 9, 2008 |
23rd psalm
armor of God
Parables
Fruits of the Spirit
Beatitudes
Model for Prayer
Comment by Janice | June 9, 2008 |
I work with kids with special needs. I would like to see full color memory crosses for the 10 commandments. One for each commandment. I teach one commandment per week. My kids don’t color great so the full color ones are great. Maybe all color with ONE thing that the kids color in the picture. I would like to see this same thing with the beattitudes and the Fruits of the spirit. We took one week for each fruit. The more little activities we have for each one the better. I do alot of repetition with my kids to REALLY learn the content.
Comment by Diane Mackey | June 9, 2008 |
Ideas for Memory crosses – some of the classic OT stories
Noah, creation, Moses, daniel and the Lions, Jonah, Joseph, Samuel, David and Goliath……
But also the parables Jesus told and some of the miracles he did – the lost sheep, the lost coin, the good samaritian, the parable of the sower, wise and foolish builder, the lost son, the 2 sons, feeding the 5000, the 10 lepers, jesus healing the man whose friends lowered him down through the roof….
Maybe some on people jesus met? eg Zacchaeus, blind, bartimaeus, Mary and martha…
Could you use a child friendly version of the bible when you include scripture.
Comment by Linda | June 10, 2008 |
I don’t know if this has already been done or suggested, but what about the ABC’s of being a christian?
Adam and Eve in the garden?
What about Joseph and his brothers?
There are so many stories that a person could choose from.
I am sure that whatever you decide it will be great.
Keep up the good work and May God Bless You all.

the fruits of the spirit!!
it’s difficult to tell children about this
but it’s important to tell them.
Adam and Eve
children must know their real identity that given by God and that satan has broke those by sin.
Children of God are earth protector, not earth destroyer.
thank you for the opportunity to give my ideas to you.
keep the good work and may God bless you.
btw, are you gonna make cards in indonesian language? 🙂
